Operation Take Back New Jersey
TURN IN YOUR UNWANTED, UNUSED, AND EXPIRED MEDICATIONS FOR SAFE DISPOSAL
(Syringes and other sharp instruments will not be accepted)
Chief Michael J. Colaneri wishes to inform the citizens of Hasbrouck Heights that on Saturday, April 29, 2017 between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department will be participating with the DEA as well as the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in “Operation Take Back New Jersey”.
“Operation Take Back New Jersey” is a program to provide the citizens with a safe and legal method to dispose of their unwanted, unused, and expired medications. Please be advised, that if an individual wishes to surrender obvious, non-pharmaceutical, illicit drugs, they may do so at that time. This program is anonymous and all efforts will be made to protect the anonymity of individuals disposing of medications.
Each year a growing number of teenagers quietly turn to a seemingly unlikely source to score drugs—their parents and family members’ medicine cabinets.
The goal of the program is to allow the citizens of NJ to deliver all of their unused, unwanted, or expired medications to law enforcement officials who can in turn dispose of these controlled substances in a safe and non-hazardous manner, preventing these pills from falling into the hands of juveniles or into the illicit market in our communities.
